Born in New York City, New York. He received a B.A degree from New York University and received his M.D. degree from the Autonomous University of Guadalajara, Mexico. He attended the State University of New York at Stonybrook Medical School and completed an acting internship there. He completed his pediatric residency at the University of Connecticut Primary Care Pediatric Program in Waterbury. Dr. Berg was Chief of Pediatrics at Waterbury Hospital for ten years. He is Community Chief of the Connecticut Children's Medical Center at Waterbury. He is Board Certified in Pediatrics and a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. Dr. Berg was recently named one of the "Top Docs" pediatricians in the 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017 Connecticut Magazine annual survey. He was previously honored in the 2001 "Top Docs" issues.
